Adams, Stepner, Woltermann & Dusing, PLLC is pleased to announce that Jeffrey C. Mando has been awarded the “Defense Lawyer of the Year” by the Kentucky Defense Counsel (KDC).  Jeff received the award and acknowledgement at the 2018 Fall Annual Meeting & Awards Lunch in Lexington, Kentucky on November 9.

The Kentucky Defense Counsel is the premiere organization of civil defense attorneys in Kentucky and the state-level affiliate of the national organization, Defense Research Institute. KDC promotes and supports its members through professional education and development, collegiality and diversity to enhance the quality of service its members offer their clients and to ensure access to justice for defendants. It boasts more than 400 members and has been honored by DRI in recent years for the quality of its programs and its publication.

KDC awards the Defense Lawyer of the Year award annually to a member of KDC who has set himself apart by achievements and contributions to the defense bar and KDC. Jeff was selected for the award as a result of his numerous accomplishments in 35 years of private practice, including trying more than 80 trials, arguing more than 60 cases at the appellate level, and the successful defense of numerous high-profile cases. Jeff has also served KDC directly through service on its Board of Directors and as a regular speaker at KDC events.

The key to his trial success lies in his keen ability to understand and emphasize the strengths of his client’s case while addressing its weaknesses. Jeff is able to quickly assess his client’s position and has tremendous instincts about whether his client should try to settle the case or go to trial. When working on a high risk/high profile case, his team is nimble, leverages all available resources, and maximizes the budget in order to prevail on a case.
